Chiropractic care in the New Forest

When everything is in balance, your body is incredibly resilient to daily life, however sometimes additional support is needed to promote its natural function.

Chiropractic care is a holistic approach to healthcare that focuses on the relationship between the spine, nervous system, and overall health.

Using a comprehensive assessment process we work with patients to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal disorders which can cause a variety of health issues. We work with our patients to develop a treatment plan which is suited to resolving any immediate issues as well as putting in place preventative measures for the future to allow your body to work at its best.

Chiropractic treatment can be used to treat a specific problem, reducing pain and reliance on medication as well as improving function, movement and long-term health and wellbeing.

Treatment will normally involve spinal manipulations known as adjustments. We use soft tissue and fascial release techniques with adjustments to joints which may release pressure in the joint releasing gas and producing a “POP” sound as the joint moves or is distracted. While this may sound dramatic, its often very gentle, making chiropractic beneficial for people of all ages including babies and children.

Chiropractic is a profession strictly regulated General Chiropractic Council. Our chiropractors have studied for 4-5 years and undergo continual professional development to maintain and further develop skills.

Chiropractic frequently asked questions

Is chiropractic right for me?

Chiropractic care can be beneficial for a wide range of conditions. Often it is an acute pain which triggers a patient to seek help - but early intervention can help to prevent a problem such as a minor twinge or bad posture from escalating.

Our initial assessment will determine the treatment that is right for you. If chiropractic care isn't indicated we'll help to refer you to the most appropriate service for your needs.

Is chiropractic treatment suitable for babies and children?

Yes, it is suitable for all ages.

In babies, it can help to address issues from birth and can improve temperament and sleep patterns.

Children are constantly growing, so keeping them moving well with good alignment will help to support their development and can prevent minor issues developing into bigger health problems in later life. Chiropractic care is also beneficial to the function of the immune system.

Does chiropractic treatment hurt?

Chiropractic treatment is normally painless. Your chiropractor will guide you through the treatment and ensure that you are comfortable throughout. During your appointment your chiropractor may perform adjustments which cause a pop sound. Whilst this can sound dramatic, its normal.

Following treatment you may experience some short-term discomfort or stiffness while your body adjusts.

Do I need an x-ray?

In most cases patients won't require an x-ray - but your chiropractor may recommend an x-ray or MRI scan to assist as part of our diagnosis.

Where do you see patients from?

We're based in Pennington Village, and see patients from across the New Forest and the local area including Lymington, Everton, Hordle, Milford on Sea, New Milton, Sway, Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst and Southampton - as well as some loyal clients who visit from further away!
